Bhogendra Jha passed away

Veteran Communist leader, freedom fighter and former Member of Lok Sabha Com. Bhogendra Jha passed away on 20th January 2009 .Com. Jha was born in Barha in Madhubani district of Bihar, joined the freedom struggle at the age of 14 and was jailed many times by the British Government.  He joined the Communist Party in 1940.  He was an eminent Parliamentarian and  was elected five times from Madhubani (Bihar).  He was a pioneer of land reforms movement and fought for the marginalized and deprived sections. He was the President of All India Kisan Sabha.  He was jailed  more than 12 times.  He was a great writer and also made immense intellectual contributions in the field of philosophy and literature.
